Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a 3000-year-old medicine originating from Ancient China. We use extremely fine needles in specific locations all over the body to treat various physical and mental conditions. Nothing is added through the needles, instead the stimulation of these points promotes your body’s natural ability to heal itself and rebalance.

Chinese Medicine theory views the body holistically, so your practitioner may ask you questions about all areas and workings of the body. This allows us to form a treatment plan and point prescription that is specific to your body and its unique needs.

While many patients find us to support them with recovery, Chinese Medicine places an important emphasis on preventing disease and keeping the body healthy.

In Chinese Medicine, the emotions have an important influence on our body. Acupuncture can assist in the physical release of unresolved trauma, stress, burnout, grief, and improve your ability to cope.

Verity Barltrop

BSc (Hons), MBAcC

I graduated from the University of Westminster in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture. I am a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and adhere to their strict Codes of Professional Conduct and Safe Practice, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). This ensures that my patients receive safe, ethical, and high-quality care at every stage of their treatment.

I first discovered the benefits of acupuncture when struggling with a health issue that conventional approaches had not been able to resolve. After experiencing first-hand how acupuncture could restore balance, ease discomfort, and improve my overall well-being, I felt inspired to learn more and ultimately to dedicate my career to helping others achieve the same sense of relief.

Over the years, I have developed extensive clinical experience supporting people of all ages ranging from seven years old to eighty eight years old, and work with a wide range of physical and emotional conditions. I have a particular passion for working with pain management, fertility (assisted or un-assisted), and mental health.

Whether you are seeking relief from a specific condition or simply wish to improve your overall well-being, my goal is to create a calm, supportive environment where you can begin your journey toward better health.

Haruko Sair

LicAc, MBAcC

I am a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the Academy of Scalp Acupuncture (ASA) and a recognised Healthcare Provider for the WPA.

I was raised in a household firmly grounded in Western medicine.  My father was an internal medicine doctor, and a truly exceptional one. Growing up alongside his work, I developed a deep respect for modern medicine and for those who practise it. With time however, I became increasingly aware of how often people live with complex health concerns that lack clear explanation.  Many struggle with multiple, overlapping symptoms that gradually take a toll on their strength and quality of life.  In these situations, Western medicine can sometimes have limited options to offer.

It was through these experiences that I came to believe deeply in the value of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Its emphasis on looking beyond isolated symptoms and focusing on the whole person, and on the balance and connection of the entire body can offer meaningful support when conventional explanations fall short.

My passion for acupuncture comes from this belief: that by treating the person as a whole, rather than simply suppressing symptoms, we can help awaken the body’s natural strength and resilience. My aim is to support people in restoring balance and vitality by caring for body and mind as one.

As Hippocrates said: “Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease.”

“This is such a calming and safe place to come for healing of all kinds. I am so thankful to Acupuncture for all it has done for my health, I would recommend it to anyone.’’
